Real Smiles Behind the Star Wars Villains
Sometimes the evilest villains in film history have great smiles that go unnoticed. The actors who play these characters are usually covered in make up. Either that, or their characters’ are always frowning. All the time.
One of the reasons that the Star Wars franchise has been so successful is that the villains are just so evil. The actors who play them are incredibly talented, and they are so good about staying true to their characters. But we do feel bad for never recognizing their teeth. For that reason, today we’re going to be featuring the bad guys from Star Wars and showing off their amazing smiles! This article may contain spoilers, so if you haven’t seen the Star Wars films… stop what you’re doing now and go watch them!
Darth Maul – Ray Park
Next to Darth Vader himself, this guy was probably the scariest character to pop up on the screen. Darth Maul, played by Ray Park, is a Sith Lord known for his double-bladed lightsaber. While Maul is absolutely terrifying, we can’t help but admire Park’s teeth. Not only was he an unrelenting crime lord, it seems he was also extremely diligent about his teeth cleaning routine! Talk about the ultimate bad boy dreamboat.
Kylo Ren – Adam Driver
Yet another incredibly good looking man who was seduced by the dark side. Kylo Ren is unlike any other villain in the Star Wars franchise – full of emotion and not quite as fully formed as a villain when we meet him. Adam Driver portrays his dangerously violent and unstable character extremely well. That’s why we were pleasantly surprised to see that Driver has such a great smile. Although, we wouldn’t complain if he decided on an Invisalign treatment!
Supreme Chancellor Palpatine/Darth Sidious – Ian McDiarmid
By far the most impressive transformation, here we have Ian McDiarmid as Darth Sidious. All that make up and special effects made him look like an undeniably evil character. It’s nice to know that the teeth he wore in the movie were not real! Well Mr. McDiarmid, we think you have a wonderful smile in real life.
Anakin Skywalker – Hayden Christensen
In the complicated, circuitous path towards becoming Darth Vader, Hayden Christensen played the adult Anakin Skywalker. When his visions of his wife’s death drove him to the dark side of the Force, audience members saw an innocent human boy turn into the ruthless villain, Darth Vader.
While there is some disagreement among the Star Wars community about whether Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader is a villain or a tragic hero, there is absolutely no controversy about Hayden Christensen’s teeth. They are absolutely perfect.
Darth Vader – David Prowse
It’s been widely known among the Star Wars fandom that this role has been played by many different stars over the years, but the original character was played by David Prowse. Like we said, some consider Darth Vader to be the most evil villain in film history. But behind the mask (at first, anyway) was a body-builder with a great smile.
There you have it! The faces behind the villains of Star Wars are not at all what we expected. These brilliant actors have been covering up some incredible teeth.
