Trick or treat! Are you looking for places to celebrate Halloween with your family in Mission Viejo? Here are a few of the community events we have heard about for this spooky month. Read on to learn more about events that you should add to your calendar!

Hometown Halloween

When: October 27, 2018, 4-7 p.m.

Where: Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center

Cost: free entry

Hometown Halloween includes carnival game booths, crafts, face painting, music, and pony rides. After 6pm, check out the glowing haunted maze! Most activities are free, but there’s a small fee for others. Kids are invited to come in costume for the trick or treat event, so don’t forget to bring a bucket or a bag for candy!

Mission Viejo Pumpkin Diving

When: October 21, 2018, 2-5 p.m.

Where: Sierra Recreation and Fitness Center Pool

Cost: $5 advance / $10 at the door

Pumpkin Diving gives kids a chance to jump in the pool and picking your pumpkin! Sierra pool transforms into a floating pumpkin patch. Once you pick your pumpkin floating around in the pool, you can dry it off and and decorate it at one of the decorating stations. There will also be fun carnival games! Be sure to reserve a spot early – the event will fill up fast.

Haunted Escape Room

When: October 27, 2018, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Where: Heritage Room at the Library

Cost: Free

Do you have what it takes to make it out of the haunted escape room? Come find out! This program is free and sessions run every 40 minutes until 5pm. You can register for your time slot at the Adult Reference Desk by calling 949-830-7100 ext. 5105.

Trick-or-Treat Pumpkin Dance Party

When: Sunday, October 28 from 1 to 4pm

Where: Kaleidoscope in Mission Viejo

Cost: free entry

Ghosts and goblins of all ages are invited to the “Thrill or Treat” Halloween Party & Open House this year! The afternoon of free family fun will take place throughout Kaleidoscope with seasonal crafts, a DJ, photo opportunities, trick or treating for costumed youngsters, and some other spooky surprises. The first 200 kids will receive trick or treat bags and a Party Pass to collect stamps from all participating retailers and restaurants for a chance to win prizes at the end of the event. Adults can also enjoy food and beverage sampling from Kaleidoscope restaurants, special discounts from select retailers and mini spa treatments. You won’t want to miss this!
